Three bowls. Eighteen inches of acacia wood. The board that arrives at the table and becomes the table. The Kalmar Home Acacia Wood Charcuterie & Serving Tray is a generous 18" x 9" handcrafted solid acacia board with three black square ceramic bowls — each one 4" x 4", seated in routed indentations cut precisely to hold each bowl in place, preventing movement and spillage as the board travels from kitchen to table to porch. Three bowls means three dips, three sauces, three condiments, three flavors running alongside the cheese, the charcuterie, the crackers, the fruit, the nuts arranged across the full length of the board.
Acacia wood — the wood chosen by God for the Ark of the Covenant, the altar of incense, and the table of showbread in the Tabernacle — is one of the hardest, most durable, and most beautiful woods in the natural world. Naturally resistant to stains, odors, and moisture, it is the wood that endures. The warm, rich grain of the acacia and the matte black of the square ceramic bowls are a pairing as striking as it is natural — the contrast that makes the board look designed, considered, and entirely at home on any table from a casual weeknight to a formal gathering.
The ceramic bowls are removable — lift them out and the full 18" x 9" surface becomes an open board for larger arrangements, a bread board, a display surface, a centerpiece base. The bowls are dishwasher safe; the acacia board wipes clean with a damp cloth. The board that does more, holds more, and looks better doing it than anything else on the table.
“And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts.” — Acts 2:46
